Dunrobin’s Lemmex wins national Gold

HORSESHOE VALLEY – Dunrobin Shore’s Caily-Grace Lemmex, 13, is a Canadian champion after winning gold at Canada Snowboard’s Speed Nation U15 National Championship held at Horseshoe Valley March 14 to March 19. Snowboard cross, or boardercross as it is also known, involves four to six snowboarders racing down the same track, a track filled with mumps and sharp turns, at the same time. Winners advance to the next round until the champion is decided. Caily got her start on a snowboard at nearby Mount Pakenham at age six, and her mother Joanne Lemmex credits the greater community of West Carleton for Caily’s amazing accomplishment
